| Hearts & Tears is the motorcycle club in Pokhara, Nepal - one of the world’s premier destinations for adventurous travelers.
We help people do amazing things on cool bikes at the top of the world: learn in safety; develop skills on beautiful mountain roads, head off on a motorcycle adventure, or rent/buy a great bike and riding equipment.
Our services are open to everyone, all year round, and offer great value for money. We actively encourage beginners, and half our customers are female.
Hearts & Tears Motorcycle Club (Pvt) Ltd is legally established and contributes to the local economy. We try to operate to the highest business, motorcycling and ethical standards. |

The company is owned and operated by Moniek Wittens and Rick Magill, who live in Pokhara. |
|
Moniek runs the business, teaches, and guides on trips. She was an executive in the Dutch telecoms industry before getting addicted to motorcycle adventures. She learned to ride in Thailand, and spent a year exploring Europe, the Balkans, and the Middle East on her BMW 650GS Dakar. |
|
Rick was a management consultant and sports bike junkie. He trained with the California Superbike School (level 4), and has been coached by top racers on Europe’s race tracks. Settling in Nepal after a 3-year, 47 country motorcycle odyssey, he’s now a riding instructor and guide.
Anyone who rides with Hearts & Tears is in the Club - come and join us! We’re a mixed and interesting bunch (see the photo gallery); local riders, ex-pats, tourists; people from all kinds of backgrounds, sharing a passion for bikes. |

Our Clubhouse is in the garden of the Busy Bee Café, Lakeside. We’re open daily from lunchtime ‘til about 6pm. If you can’t find the clubhouse, you probably shouldn’t be riding a motorcycle! You’ll usually find us at the bar in the evenings, enjoying the live music. Rock & roll stops the traffic.

Raju is our Nepali mechanic. With six years training in India, and working exclusively with Bullets, he’s the Royal Enfield expert in this part of the world. His work speaks for itself.

Nomad’s spray shop produces one-off paint jobs for custom bikes. We also have access to machining shops, welders, fabricators and anything else we need to build our bikes.

We build and maintain unique motorcycles to the highest standards possible in this part of the world and most of them are available for you! Unlike many tour operators, our bikes are wholly-owned. |

We love all motorcycles but, in Nepal, the Royal Enfield Bullet is central to what we do (and the inspiration for the Hearts & Tears brand; look at a Bullet from the side – engine like a heart, tank like a teardrop). It’s the Indian Harley-Davidson, the Nepali Ducati - and the bike of choice for a thousand Asian road trips. They look gorgeous, riding one gives you a huge smile, and the sound is one of the classics of motorcycling. But it’s a little “different”. The controls are in the wrong place; gears are on the right and upside-down. There’s virtually no front brake, and the back brake is at your left foot. Kick-starting is an art. 1950’s technology in the Himalayas - you’ll love it! |
|
In addition to our 350cc and 500cc Bullets, we have choppers, a two-stroke café racer, a 1970’s scooter, classic roadsters, an ex-police streetfighter; all kinds of custom stuff, plus a variety of ‘standard’ bikes. The garage is constantly evolving, and there’s something for everyone. |
