INTRODUCTION

Join us for the ride of lifetime into one of the most unexplored regions of the Himalayas. Upper Mustang provides experienced riders with an adventure that very few have dared to undertake.

 

This ride is not for the faint hearted. It will push your riding skills, the bike, and endurance to the limit. The rewards are plentiful however as you get the chance to experience the last remaining Tibetan kingdom in all it’s glory. The majority of the tour rides close to 4000m (4800m max) on terrain which regularly encounters snowfall, landslides and glacial melt. So get ready to take deep breathes!

 

Hearts & Tears MC were the first tour company to explore the region launching our pilot tour to Lo Manthang in April 2015. It is beyond doubt the most thrilling and unique Himalayan journey on two wheels. See you out there!

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Welcome to Pokhara!

Relax by the lake and take in the beautiful surrounds by day. Meet your riding team, your trusty steed, and tour briefing by night. Tomorrow we ride!

Day 2 - Pokhara to The Cliff

Get familiar with your bike with a ride through chaotic traffic, along winding rivers, into quaint villages and countless corners! The route is designed to give you the confidence and local knowledge needed to tackle Upper Mustang.

Day 3 - The Cliff to Marpha

After a hearty breakfast, we take the spiritual Kali Gandaki river north. It's an amazing route and the local villages are incredibly fun. We'll introduce you to our friends along the way and cross numerous suspension bridges enroute.

Day 4 - Marpha to Kagbeni via Muktinath

To get prepared for the altitude to come, today we ride up to nearly 4000m to Muktinath, before descending down to Kagbeni at 2800m for the night. It's a stunning day where you will get some of the best views of the tour.

Day 5 - Kagbeni to Lo Manthang

Today we ride north and enter the region of Mustang. We'll pass through the world's deepest gorge, some incredible alpine forests, and go ballistic and we head higher and higher.

Day 6 - Lo Manthang to Chosur caves

Ride to the surrounding villages of Lo Manthang and explore the endless hills, chasing eagles along the way. We stop in at the Chosur Caves and admire the limestone formations.

Day 7 - Lo Manthang to Kobang

Follow the trail of mythical demons and dragons as you see the blood-stained cliffs of Dhakmar, the slain dragon at Ghami and spin the wheels of Nepal's longest mani-wall before settling in at Ghami for the night.

Day 8 - Kobang to Pokhara

Ever wondered what a knight felt like returning home from a victorious battle? Well maybe, just maybe, it was a little you do today. A freakin HERO! You have done it. Upper Mustang.
