ITINERARY
Day 1 - Welcome to Tbilisi!
Let the show begin! Arrive to downtown Tbilisi, meet the crew, check out your ride, and go through the epic week ahead over some great food and local wine.
Day 2 - Tbilisi to Sighnaghi
After leaving the city, we wind our way eastwards towards the City of Love - Sighnaghi. Famous for it's award winning wines and romantic setting, it's a great first night on the road that we enjoy with incredible Georgian food....and wine!
Day 3 - Sighnaghi to Shatili
We leave the low lands behind and climb high to Shatili for the incredible scenery. We visit some old fortresses and sleep with the mountains looking down up on us and a sky full of stars.
Day 4 - Shatili to Gori
We ride south west via superb local roads towards Gori - the birthplace of Stalin. We visit the Stalin museum and after all these years, I still struggle to make sense of it all. But travelling sometimes doesn't need to make sense!
Day 5 -Gori to Oni
Today we ride to the Racha region in western Georgia along incredible forested roads winding through valleys and mountains passes. We finally descend to Oni and stay at our favourite local guesthouse for AMAZING hospitality.
Day 6 - Oni to Martvilli
Today we cruise through lush valleys with vineyards lining the hillsides and raging rivers leading us on. We stop in at the Prometheus caves and hit some off-road trails for the fun of it.
Day 7 - Martvilli to Mestia
This is why we do it! Perfect back roads, mountain views, historic buildings jotting the landscape, almost zero traffic, and altitude. Yeehaa! You have made it to Mestia.
Day 8 - Day trip exploring mountains of Mestia
Want to unwind and visit the numerous sights of interest in Mestia? Go for it! Or do you want to hit some off-road trails and check out the mirror-like highlands lakes? Let's do that too!
Day 9 - Mestia to Kutaisi
We go ballistic today and head up to the massive Zagari pass. What a sight to behold! Not many riders know about this little detour but oh boy is it worth it. Endless views of the Caucasus mountains remind us how amazing this planet is.
Day 10 - Kutaisi to Vardzia
The Vardzia caves - you've got to check them out! I've seen a few caves in my time, but this complex puts them all to shame. It's literally a city in a rock. An incredible place to wander through.
Day 11 - Vardzia to Tbilisi
Today is the final day - but it is by no means a walk in the park! After climbing to a plateau outside of Vardzia, we ride north towards Tbilisi skiting some incredible lakes and stopping for a fresh fish lunch. We then bomb back to base and celebrate!
